Miami cHeat vs. Chicago Bulls: LebronLeBiatch's Dirty Tactics On Display Again

CHICAGO, IL.  The Chicago Bulls went into the halftime intermission trailing 43-37. Not sure what was said in the locker room, but I can guarantee that one play was mentioned.

Shortly before the half, Lebron had leaked to cherry pick an easy basket, but Jimmy Butler was in position to strip the ball loose which was recovered by the Bulls.

"Hey Lebron! How's my dick taste?"

While on the floor after the play, Lebron purposefully pulled down Jimmy Butler to prevent the Bulls from having numbers while he wasn't hustling back.

As he pulled down Butler (in front of the NBA referee, mind you, without a foul call), Butler's feet ended up around Lebron's head area. Lebron continued to engage Butler, including swinging his own legs up toward Butler's head. Butler, without taking any swings or kicks at Lebron, made it clear that he wasn't going to give Lebron a single inch, and he emerged from the scrum smiling a confident smile.

That play had to fire up Jimmy Butler. After going 0 for 5 with no points in the first half, he finished up with 16 pts, 11 reb, 4 stl, and 1 blk.

Meanwhile, Lebron, who had to have been frustrated and now embarassed by this unsportsmanlike play, went on to finish with only 17 pts on 8 of 23 shooting (38.2%), even below his season average against the Bulls (19.0 on 42.9% shooting).

Jimmy Butler added to his resume as the Lebron-stopper; while being defended by Butler, Lebron made only 2 field goals and had 3 turnovers.

The Bulls came back from an 11 point 4th quarter deficit to force OT. Then, led by Joakim Noah (20pts, 12reb, 7ast, 5blk), Chicago dominated Miami on the boards and suffocated the Heat offense, which only managed 2 meaningless points on a too little, to late layup by Lebron.

The Chicago Bulls sent the cHeat to their third straight loss in a week that began with Lebron piling on during a blowout of the lowly Bobcats with 61 points. Since then, Lebron has managed 58 points combined in the cHeat's three straight losses.


Beware of the Lebron Dick-Riders

Today, all the Lebron Dick-riders were all up in arms to say that Jimmy Butler kicked Lebron in the face, using very creative stills from the game footage to illustrate their opinionated articles.

We all know that at full speed, that was not a kick, and Lebron flinches like he's been shot in the head at any contact because he's used to getting something for all his acting.

But on the other hand, with video review, the NBA needs to start holding the players that instigate this type of contact accountable because players can and do get hurt from all the tangling of limbs that some players, particularly Miami Heat players, have initiated.

Case in point, a play from the 2011 NBA Playoffs that changed the entire dynamics of the Miami Heat vs. Boston Celtics series:

Enough with the acting. Enough with double technicals. Make these situations reviewable by replay and make the penalty meaningful.

Instigators should be ejected from the game with potential for suspension pending the result of the play. This kind of unsportsmanlike play is unacceptable in a professional sports league.

Lebron did not injure Jimmy Butler on that play, but he could have the way Rondo was injured. But the referees should have viewed a replay of the contact. They should have ejected Lebron from the game. And if there was an injury, as there was with Rajon Rondo, there should be the potential to suspend the involved player for the rest of the series.

As it stands, the David Stern-led NBA basically awarded the Miami Heat for causing this injury. Hopefully, new NBA Commissioner Adam Silver is aware of this and many other flaws in NBA officiating and is actively working to rid his league of unsportsmanlike play such as this.

LeBron and Miami Heat's Complaining Starts Early In Cheating For Another Championship

MIAMI, FL.  Not sure why ESPN.com bothers having a section on its site called "Heat Index" specifically covering Miami Heat stories when the entire NBA coverage by ESPN is a Miami Heat propaganda machine.

This used to be called a charge taken by a gutsy veteran with a high basketball IQ; in this league of superstar calls, its a foul and free throws for the Star, never a foul on LeBron James.

Anyway, in a stunt for the TV cameras and sports "journalists" in attendence during Miami Heat practice, the Heat coaching staff brought out football pads to "simulate" the physical play that the team would encounter against the Chicago Bulls on opening night.

As Miami Heat sports writers everywhere describe the odd sight, the not-so-subtle message is transmitted throughout the slanted ESPN universe: "Beware of the dirty play of the Chicago Bulls."

C'mon.

Tom Haberstroh, as the Miami Heat beat writer for ESPN, you are either slipping that in there to gain your team an advantage, or you are so stupid that you let the Miami Heat coaching staff use you to gain an officiating advantage. Either way, you are a pathetic excuse for a "journalist".

Meanwhile, wasn't it LeBron James himself that tauted flopping as an effective strategy after stating that he has never flopped in his entire career? And wasn't it the same LeBron James that got called and fined a few nights later for flopping?

And what about this Dwayne Wade Cheap Shot Montage (starting at 9:39)?

LeBron and the Heat must sense the sun setting on their time at the top, by default. The Heat won't get an automatic road to the Finals.

Their Eastern Conference Finals foes from last season, the Indiana Pacers have gotten even bigger up front and deeper.

The superteams in Boston and Brooklyn have consolidated into a single Eastern superpower based in Brooklyn.

And the Miami Heat's greatest rival, the Chicago Bulls have their MVP back in Derrick Rose. They are the team that have put fear into the hearts of LeBiatch and his bunch since they split the season series last season and took two games off of them in the playoffs without their best and second best players.

And so what does a aging and declining champion resort to when they feel vulnerable?

They cry foul. They complain about officiating. They stack the deck if they can.

They accuse the other team of being too physical.

They CHeat.

Miami Heat Lose Game 4; Lebron and Heat Complain About Officiating

INDIANAPOLIS, IN.  With 0:56 left in the 4th Quarter of the Eastern Conference Finals Game 4, Lebron James stood with his mouth agape. And it was not because he had crapped himself in fear and was about to FAIL in the closing seconds of yet another NBA Playoff game.

"I didn't do it! I'm just DWade's Sidekick! He told me to set that screen!"

No, this time, Lebron had his mouth agape in shock after he was called for an offensive foul while setting a screen for DWade. Despite all his protesting, unless he's new to the sport of basketball, Lebron James, being a veteran of the league, should know that throwing your hip out and tripping the other player while setting a screen is indeed a foul for any player in the NBA, despite the usual practice of "Superstar Calls", for which Lebron is a particularly frequent beneficiery.

In case you haven't seen the highlight of the play which earned Lebron an ejection, here it is:


It was ironic after a day when Lebron was quoted as condoning flopping as a good strategy, and laughing for several days about the 10-12 flops a game on which his Miami Heat teammate, Shane Battier is able to draw fouls that negate Indiana Pacers scoring plays, offensive rebounds, or just generally get David West or Paul George into foul trouble.

However, on this night, things would end differently.

Despite Battier again drawing flop fouls on nearly three consecutive trips down the floor and helping the Miami CHeat to build a 7-point lead early in the 4th Quarter, the Indiana Pacers would not go away, and they would not be discouraged by the biased officiating. With 0:56 seconds left in the game, the Pacers held a 4-point lead.

And that is when Miami went to their true alpha dog, DWade, while Sidekick set the screen.

Well, Lebron couldn't quite do that right, and he ended up getting tossed with 6 personal fouls and on the strength of a 99-92 victory, the Indiana Pacers pulled into a 2-2 series tie with the Miami CHeat.

Today, the official network of the Miami Heat and online home of "The Heat Index", ESPN, finally remarked on the ridiculousness of the amount of flopping going on, mostly to say that the Indiana Pacers had joined in. It was not notable or ridiculous when the Miami CHeat were utilizing flopping as a strategy, but now that the Pacers were playing that game, now it is excessive and rampant, and must be stopped. HUH?

I guess the media must believe that since the Miami CHeat flop, Floppers Gon' Flop. Even if it has been made "illegal" by the NBA.

2013 NBA PLAYOFFS: ECF GAME 2: The Return of LeChoke!

MIAMI, FL.  One game after the luckiest game of Lebron's career, when Lebron fans thought he had turned a corner from being LeChoke, Lebron does what he does: PROVES THAT HE LACKS THE CLUTCH GENE.

Paul George has proven Lebron's equal and more, coming up with huge clutch plays like his ridiculous dunk on Lebron and Chris Anderson.

In the final 45 seconds of Game 2, Lebron makes two bad plays, turning the ball over to the Pacers, essentially choking away the game.

On one possession, with Indiana up 95-93, David West intercepted a pass that James was throwing to Ray Allen with 43 seconds left, pushed the ball into the frontcourt before giving the ball to George Hill.

While the Pacers didn't get a shot off, resulting in a 24 second violation, the clock had ticked all the way down to 17.7 seconds.

And that set the stage for the Return of LeChoke.

Lebron received the ball on an easy throw in at the top of the key, guarded by Paul George. Lebron James, put his shoulder down and drove to the right block, saw the 7' 2" Roy Hibbert coming to help, spun and travelled (not called by the referees), and then in desperation, tried jump passing out toward the perimeter.

The pass went to no one, just an area, and David West got to the area first, knocking the ball off-course with his right hand for his second steal in the final minute of the game. Indiana was able to extend the lead to four on two George Hill free throws.

Despite the great effort of the visiting Indiana Pacers, the win was not yet sealed. With nearly 8 seconds left, the Heat could hit a three with Indiana being called for a foul for a four point play. The Pacers played a disciplined defense resulting in a Chris Bosh miss.

The Miami Heat referees made one final attempt to steal the game for their team, calling the rebound off the Chris Bosh miss off of Indiana, awarding the ball and another opportunity to Miami with under two seconds, however the rule requiring video review of out-of-bounds calls in the final minutes mandated that the biased call be overturned. The Indiana Pacers were able to run out the final ticks of the clock to seal the victory, despite the referees bias.

WHAT TO WATCH FOR:  Now that the Indiana Pacers have fairly wrestled home court away from the Miami Heat (just like the Chicago Bulls did in the second round), watch for the Miami Heat referees to hook the Miami CHeat up with some opportune 4th quarter non-calls when the Pacers work the ball inside, or on Pacer offensive rebounds. And really watch closely for Roy Hibbert, who starred in Game 2 with 29 points 10 rebounds, to battle foul trouble during the rest of the series;  it is the biggest way the referees and the league can help the Miami Heat, who have no answer for Indiana's size, get into the NBA Finals. Dirty Miami Heat Get Lesson In Heroism From Rondo As Boston Celtics Hold Homecourt, Get First Win In Series

BOSTON, MA. Dwayne Wade used to be one of my favorite players. It was because he was a basketball hero.

What he did in the 2006 NBA Finals was incredible. He demonstrated the will to win that only a handful of players with his talent and skill ever demonstrate. And when he won the NBA title, I had a lot of respect for him.

Until tonight that is.

It really started the other night in Game 1 of the Miami Heat/ Boston Celtics series when he ran through Paul Pierce's legal screen, and somehow, Paul Pierce got ejected from the game. I forgave Dwayne Wade because it was truly on the referee to call it properly as an offensive foul and tech on Wade for being the aggressor.

But tonight, Wade pulled a clearly dirty play designed to draw the foul by dragging Rajon Rondo on top of him, but instead, it may have accomplished a whole lot more to gaining an advantage for the Miami Heat. On the play, Rondo tried to brace his fall and ended up dislocating his left elbow.

Rondo dislocated his left elbow on this dirty play by Dwayne Wade, but he would return to give his team a lift in a must-win game for Boston. 

It was a gruesome looking play and injury, and Rondo was taken off the floor with assistance for x-rays and treatment. After having the dislocation reset, Rondo chose to return to the game, a must-win for Boston.

The Boston faithful were probably as encouraged as they were skeptical at Rondo's return. With his left arm dangling lifelessly and uselessly at his side, Rondo was playing in a must-win playoff game. What could he possibly do with one arm when the Heat had built a 2 - 0 lead against a fully functional Rondo?

Well, Rondo answered with his presence and gutsy effort, including a big steal and dunk.

Along with a 28 point and 18 rebound effort from Kevin Garnett, Boston is sitting in a safer spot at 2 - 1 in the series. However, the Celtics will need Rondo to have use of both of his arms if they hope to even up the series and beat the heat at home, which they will need to do eventually.

Kevin Garnett dominated Chris Bosh and put up 28 points and 18 rebounds in Boston's Game 3 Victory over the Miami Heat.

In addition, the league needs to put a stop to such plays designed to "draw" foul calls by locking arms and legs with other players. In recent years, the practice has become more prevalent, and it must stop now. It does not add to the enjoyment of the game of basketball, and as we've seen tonight, it can lead to players being injured. And that makes the game less enjoyable for fans who want to see the games decided by the players on the court, not by the sneaky plays that result in injuries that keep players off the court.

Furthermore, the Heat should be penalized for Dwayne Wade's dirty play. How did that play not even garner Wade a personal foul? Wade should be suspended for a minimum of one game and possibly more if Rondo must miss games with his injury.

Even if the NBA fails to do the right thing, what Boston does have going in their favor is the devilish pact that resulted in Lebron and Bosh going to the Miami Heat and Pat Riley winning Executive of the Year.

The devil never keeps his promises, so although the Heat may be up for now with a 2 - 1 lead and Rondo injured, look for the Miami Heat to suffer the karmic repercussions of their deal with the devil.

Cleveland and the Cavs Have The Best Laugh On Dwayne Wade's Sidekick With a 102 - 90 Win Over The Miami Heat

CLEVELAND, OH. It was sweet, sweet redemption for a city that has not only suffered the humilitation of the public announcement of Lebron's "Decision", but then had to endure the humilition of their team laying down to Lebron at home in an embarassing 118 - 90 loss to the Miami Heat on December 2nd, 2010.

Cleveland fans are still upset, but on this night, they got the better of Lebron's South Beach superfriends.

After dealing away the players that didn't have the heart to play for the city of Cleveland, the Cleveland Cavaliers came to fight tonight against the Miami Heat, who ran into a very different Cleveland reception and a very different Cleveland Cavaliers team.

It began in the parking garage as, allegedly, Lebron arrived at the game with his large entourage of homies that had had free run of the Q when Lebron was the Cavaliers star, however garage attendants turned away Lebron's "guests", setting the tone for the reception Lebron would now get in Cleveland on and off the court.

Cleveland came ready to battle, hustling for every rebound and loose ball and showing an edge that was lacking from the players on the floor in the previous home meeting with the Heat.

Baron Davis, who started his career with the Cavs and was back in Cleveland by virtue of the February 24th trade that sent Mo Williams to the Clippers, was one of the new faces on the Cavs that was not present for the embarassing home loss and now brings their swagger to the Cavs/ Heat rivalry.

It was a great pickup; Davis hit on a big three pointer before the buzzer at the half, and the Cavs went into the locker room at halftime with an 11 point lead.

Baron Davis set up Gee for a big dunk in the 4th Quarter to preserve the win for the Cavaliers.

The Cavs were able to build on the lead and push it to 23 before Miami began to make a run. But the Cavs, after relinquishing some big leads this season, were able to lean on Davis' veteran leadership and big plays by J.J. Hickson (21 pts, 12 reb), Anthony Parker (20 pts, 7 reb, 2 ast), and a great defensive effort by Ryan Hollins (13 pts, 3 reb, 2 stl, 3 blks).

Here are the highlights:


Those who diminish the value of the game and the win do not really understand the larger scope. With the losses of both Chicago and Boston yesterday, a Miami win would have allowed them to gain a full game in the race for first place and home court in the Eastern Conference.

For Miami, the loss ot Cleveland could mean falling short of getting the top seed in the East. And although Miami may not necessarily need home court the way a Chicago might, it still makes Miami's potential road through the Eastern Conference playoff much more difficult, making them have to beat Boston AND Chicago, two teams they have yet to beat this season.

It is too soon to truly tell, but the gutsy win by the Cavaliers may have potentially stopped Miami from making the NBA Finals this season.

Karma? You bet.

Boston Wins To Take Top Spot In the Eastern Conference as Sidekick and the Heat Fail The Test Against Celtics Again

BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS. You could not have scheduled the NBA season any better. On day 3 as the top team in the Eastern Conference, Dwayne Wade's Sidekick took his talents to Boston for a meeting between the former top team in East, the Boston Celtics.

Wade, Bosh, and Sidekick suited up for the game, and there would not be the excuse that one of the superfriends was injured. And despite being a regular season game, there was indeed something on the line in this contest: first place in the Eastern Conference and, potentially, the tiebreaker for homecourt advantage in the East.

Rondo went for a triple double and locked down Sidekick when called on.

As a Sidekick once said, "Karma is a B*tch." Just when he thought hitting the "Easy Button" and joining DWade's team was finally getting him everything he'd dreamed of the easiest way possible, there were the Boston Celtics to snap him back to reality. Again.

The game went down to the wire after the Miami Heat were able to erase a 13-point 4th quarter deficit, but with the score at Heat 81, Celtics 83, and a chance to tie Boston in his hands with two free throws, Lebron managed to miss his first crucial free throw and made only the second, leaving his team still trailing by 1 point.

The Heat sent Glen Davis to the line for Boston, and he calmly hit both to keep his team up by three.

On the closing opportunity for Miami, Lebron dribbled around and passed off to Mike Miller for a last second 3-point attempt that skidded off the rim. It was later revealed that Miller had just been cleared before the game after suffering from a concussion.

Whenever the Heat have put a game in Sidekick's hands, they've come away with an "L".

After the game, Sidekick was inundated with question about his inability to beat the Celtics, the team that sent Lebron home from the playoffs last year (the infamous "Quitness" game) to contemplate where he would go as a free agent. With an 0 Win, 3 Loss record against Boston this year, it would seem that Lebron's decision was a wrong one.
With the win, the Boston Celtics reclaimed the top spot in the Eastern Conference, and with it, Boston now holds the tie-breaker over the Heat for home court advantage in the Eastern Conference playoffs. However, without a loss to Miami this season, it doesn't seem to matter to the Celts where the games are played.

The final meeting of the season between the Miami Heat and Boston Celtics is April 10th in Miami. Expect Miami to pump themselves up to win a meaningless moral victory heading into the playoffs.

Lebron Returns to Cleveland: Post-Game Postmortem

CLEVELAND, OH.  Lebron's big return to Cleveland was marked by nothing more than a much needed "W" for the Miami Heat. Nothing more. DWade finally shot a respectable percentage from the field, and the Miami Heat were able to get a big lead in the first quarter and cruised.

The two major stories of the game hardly concerned the actual basketball that was played.

Signs of the times: this is no longer 2003 for Queen James.

Cleveland fans were empassioned at the start of the game, and they did their fair share of "booing" before being quieted by the Heat's big first quarter.

All the bogus threat of violence perceived by Lebron's caretakers and the ESPN news machine was nothing more than making a news story out of a molehill.

The atmosphere created by the fans in support of their underdog team exceeded the effort that was given on the night by Cavs players.

Despite the magnitude of the game, Cavs players joked and laughed with Lebron, putting him at ease in the hostile environment. All that we learned on Thursday night was that Cleveland fans are classy but still upset, the current Cavaliers team still has the "warm fuzzies" for Lebron, and Lebron is still a LeBiatch.

Lebron tosses chalk in the air because he can't juggle.

Lebron is a LeBiatch because he did his Chalk Toss routine, in front of a chorus of "booing" Cleveland Cavaliers fans at the Q. In spite of numerous questions about it and suggestions that not doing the chalk toss would go a long way towards repairing the bitterness felt in Cleveland about "The Decision" show and other displays of disrespect towards the fans that loyally followed Lebron, Lebron goaded the packed stadium who rained "boos" down upon the villainous traitor. The Cleveland Cavaliers fans showed up in force to "unwelcome" Lebron, and to be present for the event. But there was no apology, no show of grace, no show of respect from Lebron that would have to be returned in kind.

However, the packed stadium was enough to prove a point to the self-appointed "king". Here was a basketball fan base that knows and appreciates sports and sports history. They filled the stadium for all those seven years that Lebron played for their Cavs. Now, Lebron joins Wade, playing before fans who can hardly show up for the first half of the game and have no sense of history. I suppose it is fitting that a player whose legacy is ruined would want to play in front of fans who don't care and won't remember. Being the best player to not achieve his potential and the best player to be completely forgotten will be Lebron's legacy.

Dallas Mavericks' Starters Dominate Miami Heat Starters in Thorough Team Victory

Dallas, Texas.  Another game against a playoff caliber opponent resulted in a loss for the most overrated team in NBA history on Saturday night.

Dallas used a huge run to begin the second half, including a pivotal play where Dirk Nowitzki split the defense provided by Dwayne Wade and Lebron James. With all three All-Stars hanging in the air, Nowitzki completed the layup against both Miami Heat defenders. With the momentum, Dallas would stretch to a lead of 18 points which they would never relinquish.

Tyson Chandler looked like an All-Star against the Miami Heat.

Once again, Miami was beat on the glass as Tyson Chandler grabbed 17 rebounds to go with 14 points and 3 blocks, and the Mavs starting frontline outrebounded Miami 26 to 19. Chris Bosh, who has been criticized throughout his career for being soft, has done nothing to prove otherwise, and with the probable loss of Udonis Haslem for the entire season, the NBA playoff hopes of the Miami Heat rest on the slender shoulders and non-existent testicular fortitude of Bosh.

After falling to a season record of 9 wins and 8 losses, worse than last year's mark of 10 wins and 7 losses at this same point in the season, the Miami Heat players had a team-only meeting lasting approximately 45 minutes. None of the Heat players were willing to speak about anything specific that was said during the meeting.

The loss capped a disappointing week for the Miami Friends (I've dropped the "Super" for obvious reasons), who have lost four of their last 5 games. The team-only meeting was just another sign that the Miami three of Dwayne Wade, Lebron James, and Chris Bosh are fracturing under the pressure of public scrutiny of, in particular, Lebron's Decision to leave a talented team in Cleveland to form a supposed "super team" in Miami to pursue an NBA Championship. The results seem to support those who believe that Lebron took the easy way out and will not win a title this way.

This was a tough week for Lebron in particular. After Rudy Gay hit a game-winning shot in his face to lift the Memphis Grizzlies, an ad for Jordan brand in response to Lebron's "What Should I Do?" Nike ad went viral on the internet; in the ad, Michael Jordan asks if Lebron was just making excuses.

Michael Jordan lived these words every day of his career. He rewrote the record books through his own hard work and exceeded every basketball player that came before him. His play won him individual accolades.

His leadership fueled team success and carried his Chicago Bulls teams to 6 NBA Championships, winning every NBA Finals Series that he ever played in, and an NBA record, 72 win season.

Lebron James was offered the chance to follow in Jordan's footsteps in the Chicago Bulls campaign to bring the coveted free agent to the Bulls last summer. Even Jordan himself felt that the best situation for Lebron would be Chicago.

Lebron proved that he was not the player or the man that even Jordan believed him to be when he chose to join Dwayne Wade's Miami Heat, and Derrick Rose has lived up to his word after saying that he wanted to be "The Man" in Chicago.

Lebron is not and will never be on the same level as Jordan. What more needs to be said?

Dwight Howard and the Orlando Magic Send Lebron and Friends To Third Straight Loss

Orlando, Florida.  The Miami Heat have been having a woeful Thanksgiving week, with losses to the Memphis Grizzlies and the Indiana Pacers, but everyone probably knows that with the excessive coverage of Lebron James and the most overrated team in history. And a visit to Eastern Conference contender, the Orlando Magic, was not going to make it better.

Miami's weak frontline recently got weaker with the loss of Udonis Haslem to injury, probably for the entire season. Haslem was truly the only source of toughness in the paint for a Miami Heat team that rebuilt their frontcourt from scratch around Lebron James and Chris Bosh. During Miami's loss to the Memphis Grizzlies, Haslem went down with a strained left foot and had to be carried off the court; he will have surgery to repair a torn ligament in his left foot that will probably end his season.

Despite Miami's injury woes, Dwight Howard didn't seem to feel sorry for the Heat big men, as he went for 24 points and 18 rebounds (matching the rebound total for Miami's starting frontline of Bosh, Lebron, and Zydrunas Ilgauskas) in completely dominating Miami's frontcourt. Jameer Nelson, J. J. Redick, and Brandon Bass made huge contributions, as well, in the team driven victory.

Meanwhile, the story for Miami was Dwayne Wade's continuing shooting woes, as he put up 18 points on 6 of 21 shooting. In two games since missing the game against the Memphis Grizzlies, Wade has made only 7 of his 34 shots (20.6%) and has only made 1 of 8 3-pointers (12.5%); the Heat have lost both games.

Orlando was able to avenge a loss to Miami earlier this season in the Heat's home opener on October 29.

Rudy Gay "LeBiatches" Lebron: Grizzlies Hand Heat Another Loss on Gay's Buzzer Beater

MEMPHIS, TENNESSEE. Lebron finally was involved in a "Jordan-moment", however it was Rudy Gay that hit "The Shot" while Lebron played the role of Craig Ehlo.

In dramatic fashion, it was Rudy Gay, the Memphis Grizzlies' big signing of the "Summer of Lebron", who measured and connected on a fade away jumper over a fully extended Lebron James, to sink the Miami Heat as the clock ran out in regulation.

Rudy Gay had been shooting just 4 for 12 on the night and had just turned the ball over on the previous play, resulting in an easy dunk for Lebron James on the other end to tie the game. However, when it came time to draw up the final play, Gay wanted the ball in his hands.

And with the ball in his hand and 5.5 secs beginning to tick away, Gay was not going to defer the shot to anyone else. Even with Lebron picking him up as he turned the corner, Gay got just enough space over the fully outstretched arm of the most coveted free agent of the summer, Lebron James, and buried the shot.

Following the shot, the hometown crowd at the FedEx Forum erupted. It was an emotional victory for a Memphis Grizzlies team that was expected to challenge in the Western Conference but has been struggling in the early going of this season. O.J. Mayo and Zach Randolph had been demoted to the bench in favor of Darrell Arthur and rookie Xavier Henry in hopes of sparking the team. It seems to have worked, at least on this night.

The list of teams handing a piece of humble pie to the Miami Heat has gotten one more team longer. Joining the Boston Celtics, Utah Jazz, and New Orleans Hornets was a 5 win and 9 loss underachieving Memphis Grizzlies team. After obtaining the top 3 free agents available during the "Summer of Lebron" and then bragging about forming a basketball dynasty, the Miami Heat have stumbled out of the gate, with a record of 8 wins and 5 losses in the first 13 games of the season. They are on pace to finish the season with a record of  51 - 31.

A special slice of humble pie is reserved for Lebron James, who was the most coveted free agent of the summer. With every team in the league dreaming about adding his talent and several solid, "win a championship now", choices available, such as staying with a Cleveland Cavaliers talent base that put together back to back 61 win seasons, Lebron continues to be haunted by the worst "Decision" ever made by a sports superstar. He questions "what to do now?" in his latest commercial for Nike.

The Rudy Gay shot over Lebron had the "Air" of "The Shot", Michael Jordan's incredible floating shot on Craig Ehlo to propel the Chicago Bulls to victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 1989 NBA Playoffs. The way he floated just a little longer and jumped a little higher than the defender who, despite great defensive position and full extension to bother the shot, was helpless to stop him."The Shot" remains one of the defining moments of Michael Jordan's career because it illustrates the difference between Jordan and every other basketball player in the world; Jordan wanted to win more than any other player, and it fueled him to float a little longer, jump a little higher, practice a little harder, and make one more play.

The irony of the situation is that Lebron, this very summer, could have been the Air Apparent and the Chosen One to follow in Michael Jordan's footsteps in Chicago and as the icon of the NBA. Chicago was believed by the most knowledgeable basketball people, including Michael Jordan himself, to be the best destination for Lebron from the point of view of joining a team that would win multiple NBA Championships. The combination of Derrick Rose, Lebron James, Carlos Boozer, and Joakim Noah would have been amazing; Derrick Rose is currently 4th in the league in scoring, and Joakim Noah is currently 2nd in the league in rebounding. Lebron would have been an ideal complement to the two superstars, and with talented role players like Taj Gibson, the Bulls (currently 7 - 4 on the season) would have been one of the most talented, deep, and complete teams in the league.

Then came "The Decision". And the landscape of the NBA has been forever altered, but two things have not changed. Michael Jordan's legacy is still that of the greatest of all time, and Lebron James will not be winning an NBA Championship this year.

Lebron Deserves Time Magazine's Person of the Year For Being a Shining Example of What Not To Do With Your Public Esteem

Does Lebron James deserve to be listed among the likes of Martin Luther King, Jr., Franklin D. Roosevelt, and Mohandas Gadhi? The answer is clearly a resounding "no".

Does Lebron James deserve to be listed among the likes of Joseph Stalin, Adolf Hitler, George W. Bush, and Benedict Arnold (if Time Magazine had existed back in 1780)? Suddenly, the "no" is less resounding...

Barack Obama, President of the United States, is also a finalist for Time's Person of the Year along with James.

Time Magazine's Person of the Year article profiles a person, couple, group, idea, place, or machine that "for better or for worse, ...has done the most to influence the events of the year." By this criteria, Lebron certainly qualifies to be in the discussion.

In fact, what better way to cement Lebron's "legacy" than a Time Magazine article that details the events of the so called "Summer of Lebron", what was to be Lebron's finest hour, to show how selfishness, hubris, and conceit can truly cost you in the fame game. However, when the adoration of your fans are the only source of your power, influence, and income, it is probably a good idea not to humilate those same fans on public television.

Lebron's actions, and the pride that continues to keep him from admitting the utter stupidity of "The Decision", have kept his name in the news much longer than any sensible decision possibly could, and it is for that that he deserves Time's Person of the Year.

At the very least, the continuous chatter on ESPN, the television network that agreed to participate in Lebron James' ill-conceived 1-hour Decision special, about what Lebron tweeted about today and his opinion of the dismal Dallas Cowboys, for example, is evidence that the sports world has changed. Now rather than reporting sports news, ESPN has crossed the line of journalistic integrity, following in the footsteps of the Fox News' of the world, to now, creating and fabricating news.

A clear bias exists when ESPN crams Lebron James' opinions down our throats and calls it news. There is a clear bias when there is a special page chronicling the Miami Heat, called the Heat Index, when there are 29 other teams in the league, several of which are more likely than Miami to win the NBA Championship, and one of them has already proven that fact twice (Boston Celtics).

The Miami Herald has reported that Lebron, in a calculated PR move, responded to his nomination by saying that it was "crazy". Lebron said this about his vote for the honor, the Chilean Miners, "That's just crazy. What those guys did, the courage and what they stood for, I should be nowhere near that list. Nowhere near it."

If Lebron had made a sensible decision, he would not be anywhere near the list. He would just be the best player in the league, winning and leading a team, and showing his fans everywhere what it is to be a sports hero. Instead, we are forced to watch Miami Heat basketball to witness the inevitability of karma.

Celtics Beat Heat Again With Total Team Effort Despite Lebron's Near Triple-Double

MIAMI, FLORIDA.  Lebron James put up 35 points, 10 rebounds, 9 assists, and 3 steals. However, Boston left Miami with the only thing that mattered to them, and that was a convincing victory over the most overrated team in NBA history.

Boston beat down Miami for the second time in the early 2010-11 season.

The Boston Big Four dominated the game despite Lebron's nice statline. Ray Allen finished with 35 points and made 7 of 9 from 3-point land, and Kevin Garnett owned the paint to the tune of 16 points and 13 rebounds. Rajon Rondo had 16 assists, and Paul Pierce pitched in with 25 points.

The biggest difference maker was the job the Celtics defense did on Dwayne Wade, holding the Heat star to 8 points on 2 of 12 shooting.

Once again, it was evident by Lebron's statline that he was being asked to shore up the inadequate rebounding of the Miami Heat starting frontcourt of Chris Bosh and Joel Anthony. Better teams have easily taken advantage of this Miami Heat weakness and will continue to do so. If Lebron leads the team in rebounding on a given night, the Heat will have lost.

FINAL THOUGHT:  With nearly 8 minutes remaining in the game, the standing-room-only, Miami Heat crowd at the American Airlines Arena began to filter out of the stadium. Did they get to watch Lebron flirt with a triple-double? Did they even care?

Millsap Dominates Bosh And Miami Heat For Utah Jazz Victory and Career-High 46 Points

Miami, Florida No, the chances of the Miami Heat going 82 - 0 for the season have long passed. However, at a record of 5 - 3 during this first month of the NBA season, the vaunted Miami "superteam" is on pace for a record of 51 - 31, not even matching the record of the Cleveland Cavalier team that won a league best 61 games and brought Lebron the honor of NBA MVP. Experts around the league doubt that even exceeding the Cavs win total from last season will bring another MVP Award to Lebron because he is not even the focal point or best player on this season's version of the Heat.

Chris Bosh has been exposed as a soft defender and weak rebounder.

The Utah Jazz took their talents to South Beach and handed the Miami Heat their first home loss of the season behind a career night for power forward Paul Millsap who scored 46 points in the overtime victory.  

Millsap was efficient; his career-high 46 points were scored on 19 for 28 shooting from the field, including shooting 3 for 3 from 3-point range. Millsap outscored the Miami Heat starting frontcourt, including Bosh (17 points), Lebron James (20 points), and rookie Joel Anthony (4 points).

In the first 8 games of the season, the Miami Heat's greatest weakness has been exposed. After having a roster that was completely gutted during the off season to make way for the Miami Thrice experiment, it seems that the filler players that were obtained to form the rest of the Miami Heat roster are not the only concern for the Heat.

For all their talent and skill, the Miami Heat front line, lead by Chris Bosh, is soft defensively and on the boards. Chris Bosh was the best player on a bad team with the Toronto Raptors, and he was able to accrue strong stats during mostly meaningless games. Bosh never led his Toronto Raptors team to the playoffs.

In the loss earlier in the week to the New Orleans Hornets, Bosh grabbed one rebound in 34 minutes of play. ONE REBOUND!

We saw in tonight's game that the Miami Heat plan to keep Lebron James back to help on the defensive boards. Lebron tallied a triple-double (20 points, 14 assists, 11 rebounds) because of the strategy, but ultimately, the Heat lost the game. Going forward, we will see if other teams, especially teams that can dominate on the front line, continue to press the advantage to beat the Heat.

The teams that Miami is hoping to beat in the playoffs to play for the NBA Championship are teams that are powerful up front: Los Angeles, Boston, Orlando, New Orleans, and Chicago, to name a few. At this point, the Miami Heat are a fool's pick to win the NBA Championship.

Miami Heat Fall For Loss Number Two To Chris Paul and the Undefeated New Orleans Hornets

New Orleans, LA. Lebron may not have been able to do it alone in his seven years with the Cleveland Cavaliers, but on this night, it was Chris Paul who played the role of a lonely David versus the Goliath of the Big Three of Miami.

Chris Paul finished the game with a modest 13 points, but made his teammates better to the tune of 19 assists.

Following a summer that was notable for an infamous Decision to go to South Beach, Chris Paul was very public about his discontent with the state of the New Orleans Hornets, fueling rumors of a potential "Big Three" scenario that might have landed himself, along with another disgruntled superstar, Carmelo Anthony, on the New York Knicks.

Following a fifth straight victory to start the season by New Orleans (a Hornets franchise-best record to start a season), trade talks have been silenced. The New Orleans Hornets front office has consistently gone on record saying that Chris Paul would not be traded; the franchise even traded talented back-up point guard Darren Collison, who played excellent during the significant minutes he played in Paul's absence, as a clear statement of commitment to Paul.

It seems that their clear commitment, along with other off-season moves, has paid off for the undefeated New Orleans Hornets.

On the other hand, Lebron's summer has been one of a lack of a clear commitment (other than to himself and his so-called advisory team), culminating in the self-aggrandizing and self-promoting, 1-hour Decision special on ESPN. We all know the subsequent backlash that has resulted from Lebron's decision to be Dwayne Wade's Miami Heat sidekick, along with Chris Bosh.

After much speculation and talk of breaking the 72 win record of Michael Jordan's Chicago Bulls team, the Miami Heat lost their season opener to the Boston Celtics, and they now fall to a record of 4-2 after this loss to the New Orleans Hornets. This would put them on pace to win 66 to 69 games this season.

OSU Fans "Looking Forward" to Possible LeBron James Visit Despite QB's Pleas

Terrelle Pryor, the junior quarterback of the Ohio State Buckeyes, made a plea during an interview with the Cleveland Plain Dealer. He begged that the Ohio State college football fans treat Lebron James respectfully if he shows up to Saturdays game against the Miami Hurricanes.

Pryor is afraid that drunken OSU college football fans at the game will BOO Lebron relentlessly during the game for not only leaving his hometown Cleveland Cavaliers in free agency, but publically humiliating the people and city of Cleveland by announcing his decision in an unprecedented 1 hour ESPN special televised nationally.

Pryor said that he has exchanged text messages with James this week and hopes to see him at Saturday’s home game against the Miami Hurricanes, believing James plans to attend.

If he does, Pryor has a message for fans. ‘If LeBron does come, just treat him with respect and respect his decision,’ Pryor said. ‘Please, no name calling or booing or anything like that. Please. That’s my mentor, and I’ve got a lot of respect for him and a lot of love for him.’

In fact, Pryor said he was there for support after James announced his decision to leave Cleveland. ‘When he was down, when people were throwing him under or burning his jersey, I just picked him up and said, ‘I’m with you 100 percent,’ Pryor said. If James is in Ohio Stadium on Saturday afternoon, Pryor said James will be with him 100 percent, not backing the team from his new place of employment.”

It would seem like a very reasonable request that Pryor is making if were talking about anyone else, however standing by someone because they stood with you implies that there is LOYALTY. And most sports fans in the Northeast Ohio region know how loyal an individual Lebron is.

And it is also admirable that Pryor, a young athlete who has yet to be corrupted by money and fame to advocate for his mentor. However, he is asking for the one thing that Lebron was not considerate enough to give the fans and city of Cleveland: RESPECT.

So, the much anticipated 2010 NBA Free Agency period (the so called "Summer of Lebron") has come and gone. It was a soap opera beyond imagination which finally ended with the most awkward debacle of an announcement of a bad decision ever made in the history of modern sports.

Lebron decided to take his talents (and for his sake, enough lube) to South Beach to join Dwayne Wade and new Heat teammate, Chris Bosh. And that was when Lebron revealed himself to be a fraud and less than the Chosen One he had claimed to be. The hearts of those who had once supported him were broken, as they have been so many times before in Cleveland. And beyond Cleveland, those who believed that he could step into the Air Jordans of the Greatest of All Time and those who hoped that pride could be restored for a team that plays in the Mecca of Basketball were also disappointed.

However, none of this may compare with the irreparable damage that "the Decision" has done to Lebron's own legacy. The championships that he may have believed would cement his legacy, gotten this way by joining a champion in DWade, will forever cast him as a sidekick. And despite what anyone has said, this incarnation of the Miami Heat have yet to win a single game.

With all the free agent dominoes having fallen and the teams geared up to start the regular season, this usually proves to be the longest month for hardcore hoops fans. However, despite the solid month of anti Lebron sentiment coming out of the Cleveland Cavaliers fanbase, Lebron must not have been convinced that his decision could have been so poorly received.

On this day, an amateur camera-person captures Lebron James at the basketball hoops getting jeered by park-goers and missing every shot he takes. He must have been having flashbacks to Game 5 of the Boston Celtics playoff series this year where he shot 3 of 14.

In a classless display of self-aggrandizement, Lebron took an hour of national TV airtime on ESPN (and the dignity of one Jim Gray, who presided over the charade) to make his long awaited announcement.

Lebron James, a homegrown, hometown basketball phenom from nearby Akron, OH, eventually became the #1 overall selection of the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2003 NBA Draft. He was christened The Chosen One because he was believed to be the one to return Cleveland sports to respectability, and during his 7 years playing for the Cavs, James won two MVP awards, lead his team to the best regular season record twice, and made one NBA Finals appearance.

Lebron's decision to join a loaded team in Miami was viewed as not only selfish and quitting, but it was also an act of betrayal greater than any other because he was the local guy who should understand the pain and the plight of the city in terms of sports history. After being likened to Benedict Arnold, Lebron is giving Art Modell a run for his money for the mantel of most hated Cleveland sports demigod.

Q: Ira, I’m not sure people realize how much Wade and James will push each other’s games on the defensive side. Anyone who has watched them compete against each other knows they will continue attempting to one-up each other. Every spectacular block or defensive sequence by James will push Wade to match or beat it on the next defensive sequence. Just because they now play for the same team, doesn’t mean we lose out on them competing to outdo the other. — Shaddy.

Hey, Shaddy! Thanks for the, er, question, or is it just that the man-love between Wade and Lebron is just so contagious down there in South Beach?

Back to your question/comment/flirtation... Yes, there used to be some great tete-a-tetes (that is french for head-to-head) between Wade and Lebron, and Lebron seemed to get the best of many of those contests.

However, since Lebron decided to give up being a man, such competitive displays will certainly be a thing of the past. It should be clear from Lebron's "Decision" that he went to Miami to avoid working hard and carrying any load. He clearly chose to announce his decision to millions of viewers during a primetime, 1 hour special on ESPN so that everyone would know that he was done working for his fame and money and so that no one would ask questions like this one going forward.

Anyway, the answer is yes, Wade and Lebron will gamble too much on defense, and it will be just another reason not to put your money on the Miami Hype. If you don't believe me, check the following video, and without a doubt, there will be more footage to add to the video after this NBA season.
